2009 Scholarship Winners announced
The Rock Island County Farm Bureau (RICFB) Foundation announced their annual scholarship winners Tuesday afternoon at a luncheon sponsored by the RICFB Foundation.
Alleman High School Senior Amanda Bush, a Milan native and University of Dubuque Sophomore, Tashia Love will each receive $ 2,500.00 from the Wilbert and Carol Keppy Charitable Foundation. Amanda is the daughter of Steve and Julie Bush of Milan. Tashia Love is the daughter of Lance and Dorie Love of Rock Island.
Four high school seniors were selected to receive the RICFB Foundation Scholarship award in the amount of $ 750.00. The scholarship recipients are as follows:
Shea Bieri, son of Sam and Peggy Bieri and graduating senior at Westmer High School, will be attending Muscatine Community College majoring in Agriculture Business Management.
Joshua Bohnsack, son of Jay and Sarah Bohnsack, and graduating senior at Rockridge High School, will be attending the University of Iowa.
Tyler Fisher, son of Jeff and Cynthia Fisher and graduating senior at Alleman High School will be attending the University of Platteville at Wisconsin.
Haley Kitchell, daughter of Marysue and Mike Kitchell, and graduating senior at Rockridge High School, will be attending Illinois Wesleyan.
For over 20 years, the Rock Island County Farm Bureau and its Foundation CFB Foundation has awarded over $ 40,000 scholarship funds to dependents of Farm Bureau members. Congratulations to these students on their strong academics, but most importantly their commitment to their communities through civic leadership involvement.
