College Fair at John Deere Pavilion
Meet Recruiters from 13 Colleges and Universities at the February 11 College Fair at John Deere Pavilion, Moline, IL
High School seniors, juniors, class groups and parents are invited to attend a College Fair on Thursday, February 11 from 9 am – 2 pm and 4 – 7 pm at the John Deere Pavilion, River Drive, Moline. They will have the opportunity to meet admission staff from 13 colleges and universities. Organized by the Rock Island County Farm Bureau Foundation and University of Illinois Extension, Rock Island County, the program specifically addresses opportunities for students interested in degrees in agriculture, life sciences and horticulture.
In addition to meeting and talking to admission reps day and evening; between 9 am – 2 pm there will be workshops on “Resumes, Interviewing and Social Media”, and “Careers in Agriculture…More than Just Farming”. Between 4 – 7 pm there will be workshops on “Paying for College: Making Your Cash Count.” There will also be information on the Farm Bureau Scholarship, chances to win door prizes from the colleges, and information about careers at Deere & Company. All participants will be eligible to sign up for a $250 College Book Scholarship from Monsanto, which will be given to one lucky participant to help them pay for college books and supplies.
College and Universities in attendance include: University of Illinois—College of ACES, Iowa State College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, Illinois State University—Agriculture, Western Illinois University—Agriculture, Southern Illinois University—Agriculture, Blackhawk East Community College, Parkland Community College, Joliet Junior College, Kirkwood Community College, Lake Land Community College, Lincoln Tech/Melrose Park, Muscatine Community College, and Universal Technical Institute (UTI).
