Steak for Troops event coordinated by Rock Island County Farm Bureau Foundation, Henry County Beef Association, and All American Beef Battalion to be held Saturday May 1 at 1 pm.

 The Steak for Troops event is scheduled for Saturday May 1, 2010 at 1 PM at the Milan National Guard Unit in Milan.
Over 30 area farmers and volunteers will cook over 300 ribeye steaks and provide a home cooked meal to the Milan National Guard unit who will be deployed in late May. The event is supported by the All American Beef Battalion (aka Steak for Troops). The purpose of the AABB is to organize and sponsor steak feeds, entertainment, programs, meetings, and projects with Service Members and their families, to encourage and assist them in any reasonable manner and to foster among the people of the United States an appreciation, respect, and honor for our Armed Forces Military Service Members whose sacrifices have and will continue to make our freedoms possible.
