June 17th Market Outlook to feature Steve Johnson in Orion

The evening will begin with a buffet dinner at 6:15 p.m., followed by an update from Gold Star FS Grain Merchandiser, Mike Schaver, Jim Purlee – Director for Big River Resources, and WHBF’s Meteorologist Ted McInerney. Steve serves as the Farm & Ag Business Management Specialist in Central Iowa for Iowa State University Extension. He presents annually at more than 100 meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences and field events across the Midwest. He holds BS and MS degrees from Iowa State University and his Ph.D. from Colorado State University. Steve specializes in topics related to grain marketing, government farm programs, crop insurance and other risk management strategies. He writes and trains on topics related to grain production contracts, grain storage, farmland leasing and related crop income issues. He contributes to articles featured in a variety of farm magazines, websites, e-newsletters and other print and electronic media. Steve posts monthly a free newsletter and webcast that can be found on his university web site. Simply search on the internet these four words: Polk…County…Farm…Management. Jim Purlee Owner and Operator, Purlee Farms, Galesburg, IL will be sharing information about Big River Resources. He serves on Knox's Business Advisory Council, and has worked for Gunther Construction, was a school teacher and principal. Purlee is President of the OSF St. Mary's Hospital Board, and serves on the boards of Wells Fargo Bank and Big River Resources. Purlee earned an associate's degree from Carl Sandburg College, a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Illinois, Springfield, and a master's degree in administration from Western Illinois University.The cost for the single session is $18.00.
