Dr. Trent Ford, Illinois State Climatologist, will be the featured speaker on Thursday, March 9 at 6:15 p.m. at Lavender Crest Winery, 5401 US Highway 6, Colona. Dinner will be served followed by the local grain market update from Tom Parchert of Big River Resources. Reservations are required and must made by March 2 to guarantee your attendance.
Dr. Trent Ford has been the Illinois State Climatologist since 2019. He and his team provide information online, through traditional and social media, and by speaking to folks across the state. In addition to his role in climate education and outreach, Ford also conducts research on the climate and extreme climate events, like drought and heat waves; monitors current conditions; and studies climate change. A native of Roanoke, Illinois, Ford earned a bachelors in geography from Illinois State University before completing his masters and PhD at Texas A&M University
